To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Karyn Zoldan. I am the Vice President and General Counsel of Movo Media, Inc. Karyn has been
affiliated with Movo Media since 1992, mainly as an outside consultant for marketing strategies. In March 1996, Karyn accepted a position with Movo Media as Vice President of Marketing
and Creative Services.
The nature of Movo Media's business is development, implementation and marketing of interactive telephone voicemail software. The focus of Movo Media's business is
the operation of local telephone bulletin boards used by individuals to make new friends and find romance. When Karyn began working with Movo Media, the company's services were offered in
Southern California only, and the business was operated from the owner's garage. Karyn offered her services as a marketing consultant, and worked to develop advertising strategies and campaigns
for the service, as well as locate new markets in which to offer the service. By 1996, when Karyn became V.P. of Marketing and Creative Services, Movo Media operated 40 systems in 16 states,
and had revenue in excess of $12 million. Utilizing Karyn's marketing and creative strategies, the company continued to experience phenomenal growth. Karyn was directly responsible for
Movo Media's $5 million annual media buying budget and the development of the creative content for advertising placed in over 1,000 daily and weekly publications. By the end of 1997, Movo Media
operated over 150 systems in 40 states and in Canada, with annual revenue of $24 million
While Karyn's working and management style is at times slightly unorthodox, her marketing strategies
have proven to be highly effective. She has an unusually canny feel for what will appeal to the average consumer. At various times, each of us was tempted to dismiss her marketing
strategies as "corny" or "homespun." However, time and again she proved she knew exactly what motivated and attracted consumers. Karyn's marketing savvy was an
integral part in turning a garage enterprise that was little more than a hobby into a multi-million dollar business with over 130 employees.
I would highly recommend Karyn to companies,
especially small or fledgling enterprises, which are interested in marketing strategies that will develop and expand its customer base.
